BETA043 – Infirm Individual – Tha Viator
On the chalk boards circles were drawn all over them. There was a big wall that could be seen from out the window. There were circles drawn all over that too. The wall was so big that it made no sense that there would be circles drawn that high, there was no way someone could climb up there to do it, or could they?
The room I was in was a combination of rooms. It was somehow a combination cafeteria and class room. It seemed to be a health class. I was sitting at a cafeteria table, a round one, but there was also the bench style ones in the back right hand corner. I had a cheap black book bag, the kind that is given out for free. My laptop was in it. I was doing some sort of research with my laptop.
There were some rough looking kids sitting at one table. One kid, seemingly the leader, felt sorry for me. He hugged me and gave me some words of encouragement that I cannot remember. He told me he had my back. I was given chewing gum. I was chewing it, but it was too much for my mouth. It made it hard for people to understand what I say.
I walked back to my round table near the back. My bookbag was gone, but my laptop was still there. I began asking people where my bookbag was. I made my way to one of the bench tables to ask some kids if they had seen it. They couldn’t really understand me with all the gum in my mouth. I sat down with a group of them. There was girl to my left. she was wearing a volleyball type uniform and knee pads. She had Reddish brown hair, green eyes and a face covered in freckles. Instantly as I sat down she stopped paying attention to the other kids and focused on me. She pulled out a blanket and tossed it over the two of us and forced me to lie down on the bench with her. We wrestled around a bit, in a childish fun way, and then she looked at me seriously. She began to speak to me. Her speech was extremely fast and low. I think she was speaking in tongues. I had to hold my ear to her lips to hear anything at all. I still am not sure what she said. After she was done telling me what seemed like instructions she got up and left. So, I got up and continued to look for my book bag. As I was walking around the one leader kid from earlier came up to me and said something to the effect of “Now you know what makes it tick.” or something and then reinforced the idea that he had my back. I was confused by what he said, and thought about it as I continued my search for the book bag.
As I’m looking for the book bag, a girl stops me and tells me I look different, especially my hair. I look into a nearby mirror and see that it’s longer than usual. I continue to search.
The teacher is now teaching the class, and the cafeteria aspect of the room has faded. It’s more of a class room now. Some of the kids seem surprised that I have the nerve to walk around the room searching while the teacher is giving a lesson. I look out the window and see the walls outside and the circles drawn on them. I stare at them for a while and wonder about them.
The teacher notices I’m disturbing the class with my search, he comes over and I describe the book bag to him and he finds it instantly. I put my laptop in the bag and join the rest of the class.
He is teaching us something about language or communication. I’m trying to pull the gum out of my mouth, I keep pulling big wads out but there is still more. He asks the class to peer into this sort of screen or portal. It was as if it were conjured to see something happening elsewhere, like a crystal ball, but not. I continue to pull wads of gum out till I feel as if I could talk if I want to. I peer into the portal. There is a grey rodent type thing in there, it’s sitting next what I can only assume is it’s home. The ground all around it is covered with tiny white and grey rocks. Almost like the rocks in a fish tank. The teacher is saying something, I can’t remember what. I’m focused on the rodent thing. It moves its lips slowly. I realize that it’s speaking. It sounds like latin or some other ancient language. Finally it bellows some short phrase in a deep voice, it’s lips and mouth look almost human. It keeps repeating the same phrase, I hear the kids behind me reciting it, then finally all the grey rocks suddenly have tiny mouths and they start reciting the phrase as well.
I’m mesmerized by this.
